Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts recruitment of Head Constable {Assistant Wireless Operator (AWO)/Tele-Printer Operator (TPO)} for filling posts in Delhi Police. Selection of candidates is done through Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Endurance & Measurement Tests (PE&MT), Trade Test followed by English word processing test and Basic Computer Functions test.

SSC Head Constable (HC) Pay Scale
Upon appointment to these posts after clearing all stages of recruitment, candidate is placed in 7th CPC Pay Scale Level-4 (Rs 25500-81100) (equivalent to 6th CPC pay scale of 5200-20200 GP 2400) with Rs. 25500 starting basic pay. Rs. 81100 is the last and maximum basic pay that can be given on this post after 40 years of service.
SSC Head Constable Salary Structure 2024
- Total Salary (Starting): Approx. Rs. 39000-43000 per month
- In hand Salary (Starting) : Approx. Rs. 35500-39500 per month
Allowances given:
- Dearness Allowance : 42% of basic pay from January 2023
- HRA: 27% of basic pay for Metro / big Class X cities, 18% of basic pay for Class Y cities and 9% of basic pay for Class Z cities / rural areas. HRA is given at these rates since Dearness allowance reached above 25% of basic pay.
- Other allowances as applicable from time to time and not included in above shown salary.
